Transfers / Arrivals -Departures

The camp co-coordinator checks the flight departure times for all students 72 hours before departure. On their last day, students' passports, tickets, any remaining valuables are returned. The summer camp leaders ensure that the students have taken all their belongings from their room and that they board their transport to the airport. The group is escorted to the airport and the summer camp leaders will help the students to check-in and ensure that they are supervised until going through departure channel. Due to security procedure passengers have to be at the airport a minimum of two hours prior to the flight departure time. Thus students' departure time takes this and the journey time / traffic conditions from the camp to the airport into account.

Students' travel to and from North Cyprus must be booked and paid for independently. Once your child's place with us has been confirmed, we will ask you to provide us with the travel details. It is important that this information is provided to us as soon as possible.

Meeting students on arrival - when your child arrives in the North Cyprus, they will need to collect their baggage and head through North Cyprus Immigration. Once through Passport Control, there will be a member of GAU Summer Camps staff waiting for your child.

Accompanying students for departure – GAU Summer Camps staff will accompany your child to the airport (at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure) and our staff will assist all students with the check-in procedure, before taking them to the security point. Students traveling as unaccompanied minors will be handed over to the care of airline staff.

Unaccompanied Minors

If your child is flying to the North Cyprus without a parent or guardian, we recommend that you request Unaccompanied Minor Assistance directly from the airline. This service is available from most airlines and should be arranged when making the flight reservations. Some airlines will suggest UM assistance for all children travelers under the age of 12. Most airlines will also request the name of the person who will be meeting your child when they land in the North Cyprus and we can provide you with this information if it is required.
